Information we collect

When you buy from us

• Name, email address, and phone number
• Billing and shipping address
• Payment information, processed by Shopify Payments — we do not store full card numbers on our servers
• Order history and product preferences
• Subscription preferences and billing cadence, managed through Appstle Subscriptions

When you use our hydration calculator

The calculator collects training and physiological information you provide voluntarily. In full, that is:

• Body weight
• Biological sex and age range — both optional, and used only to adjust sweat rate estimates
• Training experience level
• Gut sensitivity during exercise
• Heat acclimation status
• Sweat rate — the profile you select, or a measured figure if you enter one
• Sweat sodium concentration — the profile you select, or a measured sweat-test result if you enter one, including whether that result is a regional or whole-body value
• History of exercise-related cramping
• Session type, sport, duration, intensity, and your planned hydration setup
• Environmental conditions — temperature, humidity, indoor or outdoor, sun exposure
• Email address, if you enter one to unlock your results

Some of this — cramping history, gut sensitivity, and your sweat profile — is health information under the Privacy Act, and we treat it accordingly. You provide it voluntarily and can use the calculator without entering an email address, in which case nothing is transmitted to us at all.

Your inputs and the resulting recommendations are sent to us only when you enter an email address to unlock your results. We use this data to generate your personalised hydration recommendations and to improve the calculator over time. We do not share individual calculator data with third parties for marketing purposes, and we do not use it to make automated decisions that have legal or significant effects on you.

When you visit our website

• IP address, browser type, device type, and operating system
• Pages visited, time on site, and referring website
• Interactions with our newsletter, content, and product pages

When you subscribe to our newsletter

• Email address
• Engagement data — opens, clicks — provided by our email platform, Beehiiv

When you leave a product review

• Name or display name, and email address
• Your review content, rating, and any photos you choose to upload
• Whether the review relates to a verified purchase

Reviews are collected and displayed through Judge.me. Your review content and the name you submit are published publicly on our website; your email address is not.

If you join our affiliate programme

• Name, email address, and any payout details you provide
• Referral activity — clicks and orders attributed to your unique link

Our affiliate programme is administered through UpPromote. This applies only if you sign up as an affiliate; ordinary customers are not enrolled.

How your information is stored

Calculator data submitted with an email address is stored in a Google Sheets file under our Ogging Pty Ltd Google Workspace account, with access restricted to authorised team members. Our email subscriber list is held by Beehiiv. Orders, customer details, and subscription data are held by Shopify and Appstle Subscriptions.

All of these providers store data on servers that may be located outside Australia, including in the United States. By using our website, you consent to your information being transferred and stored in these locations under those providers' own privacy and security frameworks.

How we use your information

We use your personal information to:

• Process your orders, payments, and subscriptions
• Deliver your hydration recommendations through the calculator
• Provide customer support and respond to enquiries
• Send order confirmations, shipping updates, and other transactional emails
• Send marketing emails about our products, content, and research — only if you have opted in, and you can unsubscribe at any time
• Improve our products, calculator, and website based on aggregated usage patterns
• Comply with our legal obligations, including under Australian Consumer Law and tax law

We do not use your information to make automated decisions that have legal or significant effects on you.

Sharing your information

We do not sell or rent your personal information.

We share information with trusted service providers who help us run the business, including:

• Shopify — website hosting, checkout, customer accounts
• Shopify Payments — payment processing
• Appstle Subscriptions — subscription management
• Australia Post (MyPost Business) — order fulfilment and delivery
• Beehiiv — email newsletter
• Judge.me — product reviews and ratings
• UpPromote — affiliate programme administration and referral tracking
• Google Workspace — calculator data storage and team communications
• Make.com — workflow automation between the above systems

We may also disclose information if required by law, court order, or to protect our legal rights.

Cookies and tracking

We use cookies and similar technologies on our website to:

• Keep you signed in and remember items in your cart
• Remember your calculator profile and results between visits, stored locally in your browser under the keys lw_profile_full, lw_profile and lw_email. This data stays on your device and is not sent to us unless you enter an email address to unlock your results. It remains in your browser until you remove it — you can do that at any time using "Start fresh" in the calculator, or by clearing your browser storage.
• Understand how visitors use the site through analytics
• Deliver and measure marketing campaigns through Meta and Google
• Attribute referrals to the correct affiliate, where you have arrived through an affiliate link, through UpPromote

You can disable cookies through your browser settings. Some features of the site, including the calculator's save-and-prefill function, will not work without them.

Data retention

We keep your personal information only as long as we need it for the purposes described in this policy, or as required by law. Australian tax law generally requires us to keep transactional records for seven years.

If you ask us to delete your information and we have no legal obligation to retain it, we will do so within 30 days.

Your rights

Under the Australian Privacy Principles, you have the right to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you
• Correct any information that is inaccurate or out of date
• Delete your information, subject to our legal retention obligations
• Opt out of marketing communications at any time
• Complain to us if you believe we have mishandled your information

To exercise any of these rights, email support@lyteworklabs.com. We will respond within 30 days.

If you are not satisfied with our response, you can lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au or by calling 1300 363 992.

Security

We use industry-standard security measures to protect your information, including:

• HTTPS encryption across our entire website
• Access controls and two-factor authentication on internal systems
• Reputable third-party providers (Shopify, Google) with their own security certifications
• Regular review of who on our team has access to customer data

No system is completely secure. If we become aware of a data breach that is likely to result in serious harm to you, we will notify you and the OAIC in accordance with the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme.

Children

Lytework products and content are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with information, contact support@lyteworklabs.com and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top will reflect the most recent version. For significant changes, we will notify subscribers by email and post a prominent notice on the website.
